Take a walk through the saltwater aquarium – you can’t help but be fascinated by the fishes’ brilliant adaptations to a life in water. The display depicts fishing for the various species, and you can speak to the staff at the aquarium and learn more about fish and marine animals. Touching the fish here is permitted – the low pool in the middle of the aquarium hall is actually designed for this. There are sharks, rays and crabs.
The oceanarium in the background holds about 100,000 litres of salt water pumped from Ho Bay. The window measures 3 x 6 metres and is about 10 cm thick. The oceanarium houses thornbacks, halibut, greater spotted dogfish, conger eels, gilthead seabream, cod and other species.
